We are looking for commodity Buyer to join our time in Johannesburg, South Africa

Your role

Ensure parts availability through the production process while maintaining overall cost (and inventory, depending on allocation) at the lowest level and highest quality. Maintain daily contact with suppliers.

Your responsibilities

1- Manage purchase contracts for projects & operation within scope

- Develop & align project related purchasing strategy jointly with LOC strategic buyer in Europe and with other relevant functions

· Lead all negotiations with suppliers or sub-contractors with participation of the appropriate functions

· Conclude complete supplier agreements within the scope while considering best solutions in terms of TCO.

· Prepare sub-contract documentation, including tender and contract documents.

- Support major claim processes

- Ensure material delivery

- Analyze and monitor parts to ensure coverage to meet production schedule.

- Modify quantity and technical modification of the order continuously

- Collaborate with other functions to ensure project success by representing Supply Management at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems

- Assessing risk in the supply and align with Procurement Project Manager on acceptable level of risk of the project and take it into consideration for the commercial negotiation with the supplier

2- Develop supplier ‘best in class’ performance

- Maintain fluent relationship with suppliers

- Expedite suppliers to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time.

- Negotiate with suppliers and issue purchase orders or entire frame contract for dedicated projects

- Administer terms and conditions with suppliers.

- Check and handle complaints (NCR/NCC) in collaboration with SQA

- Ensure implementation of supplier improvement activities

- Perform other duties as assigned.

3- Manage material cost reduction activities

- Explore continuously material cost reduction opportunities in order to achieve defined cost reduction targets for dedicated commodity.

- Implement cost reduction activities in the project in scope

Desired profile

Qualifications

· Engineering Degree, Commercial Degree with technical background

· Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.

· Ability to provide leadership and innovation in his/her position a well as the ability to effectively cooperate and contribute in a fast-paced team environment.

· Strong oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize and manage several tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Knowledge of computer and software with the ability to provide timely, accurate, and detailed reports to management when required.
