Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a talented professional like you to maintain and improve the unit’s training and learning programs. This includes the development, implementation, and documentation of all training curriculums, and serving as the unit Learning & Development Coordinator. You will develop and implement projects to improve the unit’s manufacturing processes, using statistical methods and lean tools to analyze process data and improve productivity, reliability, and quality. Additionally, you will hold primary responsibility for unit standard operating procedures (SOP).

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

· Using your strong computer skills (specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Minitab, Microsoft Project and SAP preferred), you will ensure that training (including procedure integrity) is consistent, up to date, and effective – including field evaluations.

· Your superior interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) will be essential as you deliver critical live training across all teams to ensure training consistency within the unit. You will also manage and conduct annual fit testing for operations teams and provide all new employee training (including feedback sessions at predefined intervals to evaluate effectiveness of training and progress of the employee).

· Working effectively on your own, you will develop content for unit training, both specific (e.g., JSA, critical procedures) and general (e.g., fundamentals of attapulgite clay, safety and environmental), including video when appropriate.

· Your firm commitment to compliance will be evident as you coordinate training with site/external training providers to ensure compliance.

· Your proficiency in Lean Six Sigma tools, including Value Stream Mapping, will serve you well for leading teams in identifying areas of focus for optimal return on investment.

· Successfully engaging across the business, you will work with the Quality & Continuous Improvement Leader in the development and execution of the long-term OpEx plan.

· Using your capability of delivering Yellow Belt overview training, you will lead Yellow Belt-trained employees (typically operators and lab technicians) on projects to develop their skills and ensure success in learning and results.

· Serving as a role model by applying statistical process control and problem-solving techniques, you will have an Advisor role for a group of employees as their capabilities grow.

· Leveraging your technical/vocational training or AS/BS Degree in a technical field (preferred) and your experience working in a manufacturing environment, you will manage the annual review processes, continually developing a unit brand for tying all procedures into an increasingly recognizable and coherent whole. Additionally, you will manage the plant qualification process for operators to ensure progress and proficiency in all designated plant areas.
