What You'll Be Doing - The purpose of the Maintenance Planner is to maximize the efficient utilization of maintenance resources. This is accomplished by using craft-specific and administrative expertise to manage maintenance work orders and develop, implement, and improve job plans. Maintenance activity planning uses SAP and is performed according to BASF Newport's Maintenance Procedures.

·  Manage the unplanned work order backlog, including determining appropriate degree of planning required.
·  Group related preventive and corrective work orders for efficient planning and scheduling.
·  Create detailed job plans for maintenance work orders, including: job step sequence, repair parts, craftsmen requirements, external contractor and equipment support, and special tools & equipment.
·  Create job packets for use by craftsmen which include
·  Job plans
·  Technical documentation (e.g. photos, drawings, technical specifications, etc.)
·  Feedback form
·  Create stores reservations, purchase requisitions and service requisitions, and order necessary material for executing maintenance work orders.
·  Coordinate with vendors and contractors supporting maintenance activities.
·  Build and validate job kits (parts, material, special tools and equipment).
·  Work with Production Maintenance Coordinators to schedule 'Ready-To-Schedule' maintenance work for execution, including identifying necessary conditions and support required, e.g. lock-out tag-out requirements and permits.
·  Assist Maintenance Supervisor and Specialists in the timely execution of high-priority maintenance work orders.
·  Assist with optimization of spare parts inventory.
·  Build and maintain Bill of Materials (BoMs).
·  Identify jobs that require Management of Change (MoC).
·  Build task lists (job plan library) for recurring jobs.
·  Continually update job plans and task lists to ensure necessary changes or improvements are incorporated, including feedback from maintanence technicians.
·  Support and adhere to the principles of the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® by protecting the environment, health, safety and security of our employees, contractors, carriers, distributors, visitors, customers and neighbors.
·  Be knowledgeable of and follow all Environmental, Health and Safety practices including but not limited to: manage waste movements according to satellite and/or 9--day accumulation requirements, inspect air contaminant sources and institute corrective action for out-of-spec conditions, prevent releases into the sewer and/or storm water systems by following BMPs (best management practices), activate BASF emergency response procedures in case of spills or other emergencies.
·  Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2105 Quality Management System.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Required

·  Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in Chemical industry, with working knowledge of Chemical Plant equipment and operation.
·  Experience in personnel administration and good labor relations.
·  Working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
·  Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems.
·  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel.
