MISC Combat Systems Equipment Maintenance Engineer
Would you like to support equipment maintenance across Naval platforms such as T26? We currently have a vacancy for a MISC Combat Systems Equipment Maintenance Engineer at our site in Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth.
As a MISC Combat Systems Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will help to undertake the preventative maintenance and defect rectification activities for all Government Furnished Assets (GFA) associated with the Maritime Integration Shore Centre (MISC), specifically:
This role will provide you with the opportunity to join the team during a time of transition and growth as we move from a primarily T45 facility to one supporting multiple platforms including T26, Work will be varied and interesting with the opportunity to cross train between platforms.
Your main responsibilities as a MISC Combat Systems Equipment Maintenance Engineer:
To undertake CSE engineering activities associated with the MISC Facility.
Provide reactive support including first line defect rectification.
To support MISC services and Combat System Equipment (CSE) for NCSISS trials and cross site activity.
Implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Management Plan
Supervision of subcontractors undertaking both CSE and Facility Maintenance activities and the ability to witness proof testing and QA of their work
Facility Management support (including participation in the MISC Lock-up rota)
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
Some experience in the maintenance management of Combat System Equipment (preferably one of MFR / LRR / EOGCS / NAVR / METOC / EW/CMS / TDL / INBS).
Experience of common range electrical testing equipment in support of defect identification and rectification
Ability to read and interpret bite tests, combat system drawings and wiring diagrams
Ability to oversee sub-contractor work and provide quality assurance activities on completion
Knowledge of Configuration Management techniques
Desirable
ITAR awareness
Electrical Safety / Radiation Safety awareness (SHIPHAZ / EMCON)
Practical experience with UMMS and maintenance categorisation
COSHH awareness
Health and safety competent
Knowledge of IT Security.
Knowledge of cryptographic equipment and procedures

You will have a strong mix of stakeholder management and organisational skills with the ability to work to the professional standards expected of the role. A flexible and logical approach with the ability to prioritise workload to meet required timelines will be key to the success of this role
Location: Portsdown Technology Park, Portsmouth.
Salary: £ 32,300 +
