Product Development & Intelligence analyst

Job description

Product Development, Intelligence & Seed teams belongs to AXA IM CORE – Client Group department, and holds a key role in defining the product strategy of AXA IM to create the next blockbusters notably for our Retail ambitions.

The team’s responsibilities :

· Product Development : being in charge of the product innovation projects (from idea generation to fund launch) and the review of AXA IM funds in response to client demands. Coordinating the AXA IM CORE Product Forum (e.g innovation, reshaping, prioritization);
· Seed Money : coordinating the Product & Seed Committee to support top management in defining the company’s product strategy and monitoring seed initiatives (internal and external);

Product Intelligence : providing market intelligence and deepdive analysis to support and assess the relevancy of our firm, product and sales strategies.

The Product Development & Intelligence analyst will provide support on all the 3 pillars of the team activities:

· Product Development :

· On new product project management with the participation of many stakeholders (Legal, Product Lifecycle Team, Marketings, etc.), defining the right “time to market” for the product launch and coordinating the search of external seeders;
· On the communication,
· with the salesforce to conduct survey assessing the sales appetite, share new product ideas, and present new products;
· with the management to monitor the product pipeline and its execution progress;
· On the idea generation, in animating regular discussions with the investment platforms and the distribution teams;
· Seed Money :
·
· In coordinating the Product & Seed Committee and the AXA IM CORE Product Forum: agenda, presentation, minutes, action follow-up, etc;
· In coordinating internal seed money activity: contribution to seed money request business cases, Product & Seed Committee presentations, periodic reports, procedures update, etc;
· In monitoring the Master Seeder Fund (AXA IM’s internal seed money fund) capital allocation and P&L on investments and hedges;
· In monitoring the third-party and AXA Group seed activity in coordination with CRM, Legal and Finance teams;
· Product Intelligence :
·
· In producing regular market trend, product innovation and peer group analysis, notably based on Morningstar, Broadridge, E-Vestment;
· In performing specific market studies and/or analysis at the request of sales teams, Product specialists or RFPs;
· In supporting AXA IM’s strategic initiatives to develop new distribution or investment capabilities;
· In monitoring and coordinating the qualitative rating process of AXA IM funds with the rating agencies (e.g Morningstar);

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Academic background in finance from a top-tier university or business/engineering school.

The candidate will have a first experience (1-3 years) within the asset management or financial industry.

This position requires:

Strong organisational skills to manage several projects simultaneously and to work independently;

Excellent analytical skills & attention to details;

Ability to produce presentation with synthetic demonstrations and high standards;

Good communication skills (both writing and oral in English) to work in an international and multi-cultural environment;

Robust technical knowledge of investment products (asset classes, funds, investment style, financial instruments, etc.) with a keen interest in financial markets and the asset management industry;

Strong command in MS Office (Mostly Excel and Powerpoint). VBA/Tableau are a plus.
