The AXA Group Risk Management brings together high level and multidisciplinary staff with engineers, actuaries and financials split between Paris, Zurich, Madrid and the US.
Its mains missions are focused on the following key areas:
· Analyze, model and aggregate the Group's risks (economic capital and emergence of economic value),
· Define the process enabling to limit the undertaken risks (assets accumulation, longevity, natural catastrophe...)
· Optimize the Group's protection (reinsurance, securitization, etc.).

Description

As part of the new Solvency II regulation, AXA has developed its own internal model for the calculation of the economic capital. The GRM Life team is responsible for the developments linked to the Life risks (Mortality, Longevity, etc.) and works continuously on the model's improvements and on the quantification of these risks.

GRM offers a Life CAT Risk Analyst position within the Health and Protection team on the modeling of the whole Mortality risk including shocks by catastrophic events such as pandemic event.

The Mortality risk, mainly by its catastrophic component is equally one of the most important for Life Insurance companies. With the aim of defining its risk appetite, each insurance company has to quantify how it will resist to extreme mortality scenarios such as terrorism, earthquakes or pandemic events. In this respect, GRM Life has a direct contact with the data scientists of the AXA Data Innovation Lab to build the mortality concentration database of the Group (from a data lake of internal data supplemented by external one) as well as with researchers to propose innovative solutions concerning the improvement of the pandemic risk in the internal model.

Main tasks

Within the Health and Protection team your objectives will be defined as follows:

· Participate in the building of the mortality concentration database using Big Data technics,
· Participate to the improvement of the Life Catastrophic part of the internal model mainly on pandemic risk but also on earthquake and terrorism risks
· Understand stochastic models of mortality internally developed and be proactive to improve it,
· Make a link between the recent studies by researchers on Mortality/CAT risks and Internal Model,
· Develop these improvements in internally developed tools and measuring impacts for the AXA Group.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Required skills
·  Graduate in statistics, actuary, engineer (Master or Phd), if possible with an IT and Data Science sensitivity,
·  You enjoy working in an international and a multicultural environment,
·  You are an expert when programming and you master at least one of the following languages (or equivalent): VBA, R, Python or C++ along with an excellent knowledge of Excel,
·  You have strong mathematical knowledge (Stochastic models, Monte Carlo simulations),
·  You have to be fluent in English (written and spoken language).
