The Job:

As a Java Architect you will be involved in the design and realization of java-based solutions.

You will be the lead in the elaboration of complex solutions, taking care of Architecture, implementation, documenting and testing.

You will work in a team, with the newest technologies in the field of Java EE.

Challenges on development and more generally technical work are various, based upon modern technologies and platforms.

You have strong technical skill; you are able to communicate with Technical team in a comprehensive way.

You will be involved in all the technical discussions, drive new innovative ideas of designing software systems.

This job gives you a possibility to work in an international and technological context, with career opportunities, in Belgium or abroad.

Profile and Education:

Master or Bachelor in ICT (or equivalent by working experience)

Minimal 5-10 years working experience with Java.

1-3 years’ Experience in defining software architecture.

5-10 years’ Experience in defining development frameworks.

5-10 years’ Experience implementing relational databases.

3-5 years’ Experience implementing Web Services.

Working effectively as a team member.

Competences and Skills:

· You are a team player and able to work in a dynamic environment.
· You are able to work and deliver results in an international context.
· You demonstrate excellent Java skills.
· You demonstrate excellent Java framework knowledge (Spring, Camel).
· Proficiency in Object Oriented design and programming.
· Proficiency design pattern skills.
· Proficiency with Object Relational Mapping (ORM), especially JPA.
· Proficiency with Code review and code quality.
· Proficiency with ESB and OSGI technologies.
· Proficiency with Maven and Git.
· Proficiency XML and related technologies such as XSD, JAXB, XSLT.
· Proficiency building unit tests, especially using JUnit.
· Proficiency with IDE-based development, especially in Eclipse.
· Experience with middleware (Apache Tomcat, ServiceMix).
· Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban.
· Solid SQL ability
· You are stress resistant and able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
· Work in an organized and structured way.
· Able to work in large and complex organization.
· Result oriented and problem solving competencies.
· Very good command of English and very good in French or Dutch.

Place of Employment: Located in Haren-Evere and depending on the assignment occasional travel abroad towards AWL’s locations in Germany (Aachen & Frankfurt) or France (Lille, Paris, Blois, Lyon).
