ARM processors are used across all embedded applications including fast growing markets such as mobile phone, digital TV, set-top-box, navigation, media players, hard disk drives, automotive body and drive-train, printers, digital still cameras, DSL and cable modems, and stand-alone microcontroller devices.

Technical Communications

The Technical Communications team is part of the Partner Enablement Group. We are responsible for producing and maintaining customer-facing technical documentation for all ARM products. Technical Communications has a global presence in all major design centers. We are a mature team with established, well-defined processes and standards.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented person to write highly technical content for use by our customers. The successful candidate will have strong writing skills in English, a strong technical background, and an interest in technology.

Key Output

·  Structured technical content that maximizes comprehension and ease of use, and adheres to Tech Comms writing standards
·  Content requirements for products are analysed to support cross-product consistency and reuse
·  Tech Comms processes and best practices are both implemented and improved
·  Proactively bring-in new ideas to improve the quality of deliverables

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Competencies and Skills required:

Essential Skills

·  University graduate level or equivalent, with a background in Electronics/Computer Science or equivalent with maximum 3 years of industry experience
·  Self-starter, able to work independently with sound judgement and clear decision making skills.
·  Flexible, pragmatic and agile approach to work.
·  Information Development Skills - Good , with the following exceptions:
·  Basic knowledge of documentation lifecycle concepts
·  Basic structure and organisation of information skills
·  Basic project management and planning skills
·  Basic understanding of editorial processes
·  Excellent knowledge of the English language
·  Industry Standard Tools and Technologies – Good
·  Process knowledge – Basic
·  Soft skills – Very good , with the following exceptions:
·  Basic coaching skills
·  Basic leadership skills
·  Basic mentoring skills
·  Basic negotiation and assertiveness skills
·  Good analytical skills
·  Good communication skills
·  Good interpersonal skills
·  Good organizational skills
·  Good precision and attention to detail skills

Desirable Skills

·  Basic knowledge in one or more ARM technologies and products
·  Additional skills related to the Information Developer’s team
·  Experience in Microsoft Word
·  Basic knowledge on FrameMaker and DITA (not a must)
