Introduction We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated students to join the ARM Media Processing Group as student interns to work in one of our teams in Lund.

As an intern at ARM, you will work on real projects that have real impact, while also building on key skills for your future studies and employment. We believe in developing talent for the future, and therefore aim to offer many of our interns a graduate position once they have finished their studies.

You will be given a certain amount of flexibility and freedom in how you decide to complete your project tasks. As well as being offered a competitive salary, there are also opportunities to get involved in some of the many social events that are organised within ARM.

What will I be accountable for?

An internship in the Media Processing Group is best suited to a student with existing well-developed skills and an ability to think through complex, abstract problems. You will work on one or more projects, with an ARM engineer acting as mentor and supervisor. Typical tasks could include:

·  C programming for embedded systems
·  Java/C++ programming for PC hosted tools
·  Development of demonstrator
·  Benchmarking of leading edge products
·  Writing tools/scripts to assist engineering in the group
·  Digital Hardware design and EDA tool activities
·  Investigations and exploration of new ideas within the engineering teams The successful candidate will be expected to have the following responsibilities:

·  Assess an assigned software or hardware engineering problem and formulate a plan of action
·  Manage their time effectively and apply themselves to the task in hand
·  Provide up-to-date feedback on project progress
·  Create a summary report - outlining their findings and possible future work

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?
The preferred applicant should be a third year (or later) student in software, electronics, computer science or equivalent with good academic records. Other applicants may be considered if their experience is suitable for the role.

Essential skills and experience that we look for in a successful Internship Engineer include:
• Strong programming skills with experience of the C, C++ or Java languages
• Strong problem solving and mathematical skills
• A professional manner with good communication skills

It's a bonus if you have knowledge/experience of:
• Graphics, image or video processing background
• Embedded systems
• Digital Hardware design, e.g. RTL design and EDA tools
• Scripting experience, e.g. Unix shell(s)/Perl/Python
• Version control tools

Multiple job roles are available for this vacancy. The internship positions in Lund are either full time during the summer 2017 (~8 weeks) or part time during the winter 2016/2017 in parallel with your studies. Please specify you preferences regarding Hardware/Software and also when you are available in your application. For this role we are currently only able to support applications from candidates who are already eligible to work and live in Sweden.
