About the role:
The Media Processing Group (MPG) in ARM® has the mission to be at the forefront of advanced multimedia IP products for the consumer, wireless and automotive infotainment markets. The Mali™ range of GPUs (Graphics Processors) deliver advanced architectures for hardware acceleration of graphics, specifically tuned for low energy consumption and high performance. Combined with our software products, we provide solutions that will continue to address our customer needs into the future.

What will I be accountable for?
Modelling engineers within our team work with software models which are state-of-the-art representations of our hardware products. We develop in C/C++ in a Linux environment. Being a part of the modelling team, your role will include implementing behaviour and performance aspects of our GPU model. The GPU model is used by several teams within the company as a tool for developing the GPU design as well being delivered as a product on its own. You’ll be working with diverse, dedicated and talented ARM engineers across the globe, while concentrating on the model and related tools.

Job Requirements

Are you a good fit for ARM®?
The successful candidate(s) will be graduating from university in 2016 or beginning of 2017 with a Master’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other relevant disciplines with good academic record. This is a graduate position, so no working experience required.

Essential skills that we look for in a successful candidate include:
• Knowledge of C/C++
• Proficient in problem solving and debugging skills.
• Good English communication skills, oral and written.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to ARM® locations in Cambridge and worldwide.

It is also beneficial if you also have the following skills or experience:
• Use of UNIX and shell programming.
• Familiarity with hardware description languages (HDL), such as VHDL or Verilog.
• Familiarity with computer graphics or GPU API’s, such as OpenGL ES, DirectX or OpenCL.
