About the Role

ARM is at the forefront of IP design with over 50 billion ARM products shipped to date. The ARM CPU group develops CPU IP, from high-performance A-class applications processors through to highly efficient M-class microcontrollers. We are expanding our CPU design capacity and we are building a new hardware development team in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This team will be responsible for the design, verification and delivery of complete ARM M-class CPU IP products.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of ARM’s newest CPU design team, offering the chance to be part of a fast growing team in an important region for ARM. Successful candidates will be able to help establish and grow the team ensuring that we quickly reach maturity with a team capable of delivering key ARM products.

We are looking for outstanding CPU design engineers to work with the new management team to create ARM’s next generation embedded CPU products.

What will I be accountable for?

For this role we are looking for engineers who are capable of co-working and contributing to a global design team focused on a CPU IP design and verification project. Possible areas of working include:

• Implementing a design in Verilog RTL based on a specification
• Contributing to block level specifications and design reviews
• Working with verification and physical design teams to ensure functional correctness and power/performance goals
• Responsibility for contributing to test plans, testbench documentation, and testbench implementation
• Planning and tracking verification tasks to meet the targets at the planned time
• Applying best practice verification methodology to ensure functional correctness of the CPU IP

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

• Preferably master degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 0-2 years of experience in Verilog RTL design for complex ASIC products
• Prepared to be assigned to tasks across the full range of your skills and experience
• Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively
• Willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges
• Ability to schedule own workload and plan tasks effectively
• Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
• Enthusiasm and drive
• Understanding of the fundamentals of computer architecture
• Proficiency in HDL and scripting languages, e.g. Verilog / VHDL, System Verilog, Perl, TCL, Python
• Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs
• Some experience of the IP design cycle from initial concept to delivery
• Experience in designing from specifications and documentation describing complex designs
• Knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM), and/or C/C++
• Test plan creation and VLSI functional test execution
• Knowledge on emulator, FPGA platforms
