TN Americas :

TN Americas LLC's core business is in the design, licensing, fabrication, installation and loading of systems for storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel and other radioactive material. TN Americas LLC also subcontracts fabrication of the cask and canister components of the system to fabrication shops located in the US, India and Japan.

Job Description:

TN Americas is seeking an Project Engineer I, Design Project Engineer for our Columbia, MD office.

This qualified individual will be responsible for: NUHOMS Dry Shielded Canisters, NUHOMS onsite transfer casks, TN metal storage casks, transport packaging, and storage racks:

Additional job responsibilities will include the following:

· Support the design and continued development of existing and future product lines by such tasks as:
· Development of Design Criteria Documents.
· Coordinating the design requirements among the various disciplines.
· Engaged in the licensing process for design changes. 
· Involved in schedule development and tracking.
· Contribute to the design efforts of key elements and preparation of related safety analysis reports.
· Provide technical direction, oversight and contribute to the fabrication and design know-how for product improvement.
· Support design changes and non-conformance evaluations.
· Design and licensing of spent nuclear fuel dry storage, transport.

Typical Projects include – EOS Design and Licensing (new internal product development), First Energy/Duke ISFSIs – Design and Fabrication of Storage System Components, Auxiliary Equipment, Site Specific Analyses and Loading support (new and existing designs).

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position:
·  BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Civil or Structural) plus a minimum of 10-12 years of related engineering work experience. A Master's degree may be substituted for 1-2 years of related work experience.
·  Possesses comprehensive knowledge in spent fuel storage and transportation casks or in nuclear industry design and licensing and has completed significant project assignments.
·  Well-developed leadership qualities.
·  Experience working in a dual design/fabrication engineering environment and acting as an interface between design and fabrication engineering.
·  Experience working with material testing, form fit and functions, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).
·  Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
·  Excellent organization, planning and priority setting skills.
·  Demonstrated trouble shooting and problem solving abilities.
·  Experience in mechanical design & analysis, thermal analysis, or structural design and analysis using standards such as ASME, ANSI B31.1 or B31.7, AISC, ACI, etc.

The fol lowing requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

·  Broad knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and nuclear design analysis.
·  Experience in ASME Section VIII (chemical, refinery), pressure vessel design, fabrication or inspection.
·  Experience or coursework in mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal analysis or nuclear analysis.
·  Experience with ASME Section XI repairs, replacements and modifications to nuclear power plants (steam generator replacements, reactor pressure vessel head replacements, etc.)
·  Design or fabrication of containers for spent nuclear fuel storage or transport
·  10CFR Part 71 and Part 72
·  Experience in NRC Regulations Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.

TRAVEL: Sporadic (10%) domestic travel.
