DESCRIPTION

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies is creating a new and innovative fulfillment system that will highly leverage mobile technology. We are building a new, secure toolset to handle all aspects of facility operation that will be optimized for rapid facility operation and intuitive ease of use. We are building operations and management tools that will ultimately be deployed on mobile websites and apps across all smartphone and tablet platforms. We are on the ground floor of a multi-year development effort to identify the appropriate technology for internal operation, as well as presenting the same functionality in a downloadable application for external users of the software on various platforms such as iOS, Android and Windows phones and tablets.

We solve interesting, real-world challenges - optimizing fulfillment workflow on mobile devices, both for experienced Fulfillment Center workers as well as crowd sourced and non-employee Amazon sellers. We will be developing highly intuitive, easy to use, and highly secure applications to handle all aspects of customer order fulfillment.

Amazon.com is looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented software engineer interested in developing software applications for this highly visible and important project. The successful candidate will work in our Seattle, Washington office and be part of a Amazon Fulfillment Technology Engineering team, working internally with software engineers, program managers, and business owners.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have a BS in Computer Science or a related discipline or at least 3 years professional software development experience.
· Experience with Java, XHTML, and general object-oriented design and analysis is required.
· A demonstrated ability to deliver feature complete, production quality solutions is essential.
· An ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment is critical. Software development related to feature rich web sites with both server and client experience is ideal.
MS degree is a significant plus.
End-to-end system experience and ownership a significant plus.
Strong Unix experience is strongly preferred.
Mobile website development experience is preferred.
