DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a Training Manager (TM) to join our Infrastructure Operations team to create and oversee a training program to develop data center technicians and engineers. As a key leader in people development, you will have an opportunity to own a comprehensive data center training program, conducting end-to-end analysis to develop a comprehensive training program and managing technical trainers.

The TM will curate, create and continuously improve learning content using an array of creative approaches that inspire learners and drive career and workforce progression. This individual should be well versed in: creating learning objectives, expository content, eLearning, learning assessment and learner analytics support development, and instructional manuals for teachers and students.

To be successful, this individual must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with managers, operations teams and the student population. They will utilize: strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, and strategic thinking to deliver complex learning programs and strategy to completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing training content and delivering training to others. This includes technical applications knowledge as well as the ability to dive deep, get in the details and thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities. Individual is able to travel up to 25%.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior Data Center experience, specifically within the DCO organization unit
· Collaboration with other global resources to ensure DCO developed content is created in accordance with global standards and leveraged accordingly
· Resource management for DCO training projects on a global scale that includes delivery and development
· Demonstrated exposure of instructional design authoring tools, and learning management system administration
· Experience in developing job aids, facilitation guides, web based materials and/or other training materials
· Excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate technical content into effective learning solutions
· Coach, mentor and manage training Subject Matter Experts to understand the training needs and support development of an effective training delivery model
· Evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery, post training skills assessments, and practical application exercise
· Excellent communication skills for the purpose of knowledge transfer and skill development

· Two or more years of experience working in or around a data center environment. Understands DCO-related architecture and systems with a focus on safety, security and availability
· Two or more years of experience developing instructional delivery content and facilitating training for data center operations staff
· Two years of experience working within Training & Documentation team(s)
· Two years managing projects and project teams
