Technical Business Development Manager, AWS Educate

AWS Educate is looking for a dynamic technical business development manager with a track record of defining, building and delivering successful projects that support the program's global business development efforts. Specifically, your job is to apply project management best practices to make the team more efficient. You take the time to fully understand the systems behind the program, their dependencies, and the data available. You understand a broad range of analytics techniques, and know how to use them.

Launched in 2015, AWS Educate is focused on building bold initiatives to accelerate the integration and application of cloud content and tools into classrooms around the globe. AWS Educate members include universities, colleges, and high schools – and the educators and students from these institutions.

The successful candidate is a self-starter, analytical, and possess a strong passion for organizing projects into milestones, tasks, and deliverables. You also have experience leveraging advanced Excel features for data analysis, and producing actionable dashboards accessible to a wide audience. You have excellent business acumen and communication skills. You are able to work with a cross-functional team to define key business questions, work with software development teams to set up the right data structure collection models, and design the analysis/visualization model to answers these questions. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Key Responsibilities
· You work independently to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high quality
· You partner with technical managers to secure resources, scope technical efforts, set project priorities, milestones, and drive delivery to meet a deadline
· You are able to transform raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction
· Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements
· Support effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
· Draw actionable insights from our data, and communicate KPI's to the team
· Partner with cross-functional team members to build reports and dashboards to enable them to deliver on business goals

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field
· 5+ years of industry experience in project management
· 5+ years of industry experience in data analysis
· Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner
· 5+ years advanced proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables, array functions, etc.)
· 3+ years proficiency with project management software
· 3+ years experience in SQL and manipulating large data sets in a database
· Excellent problem-solving skills
