The Amazon GuardDuty team is looking for a strong system engineer to help build the future of the service. We are innovating new ways of building massively scalable and globally distributed security systems for assisting our customers with security and compliance.

We are seeking a System Development Engineer with a strong knowledge of distributed systems to extend our security service into new regions. You must enjoy working on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment and be passionate not only about building good software but also ensuring that the same software achieves its goals in operational reality.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
· 1+ years of experience in 24x7 production environments
· 5+ years Linux experience and associated tools/languages
· 2+ years experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments
· 1+ year of experience specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools
· This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
· 1+ years of experience scripting in any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash/Shell
