Amazon is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager - Mobile, to join an exciting new project team working to build a completely new best in class consumer product. In this position, we are looking for a leader with mobile development expertise and experienced building native as well as hybrid solutions. We are looking for someone who understands the current device and mobile network limitations and features, device system constraints, and other mobile development curve balls. We need someone who is motivated to lead a team to tackle ambiguous problems with new technologies. The team should both be able to rapidly produce prototypes, as well as build solid production solutions. You will need to contribute to the professional development of team members through mentoring, leadership, and the engineering practices. You have an eye towards quality, and insist on the highest standards.

· Be heavily involved with design and product teams to understand needs, propose features, create early prototypes and transform them into exciting experiences.
· Firm understanding of software development principles, capabilities and limitations of mobile platforms (iOS and Android) Be heavily involved in working with Platform engineers and managers
· Lead the team to build new end-to-end features that bring real-time data, video, workflow and audio solutions via mobile applications.
· Deep-dive into process and operational excellence to optimize for performance, maintainability, scalability, extensibility as needed.
· Propose innovative tools, frameworks, automations and processes that are used by the entire mobile team for development.
· Ensure High Quality Standards
· Mentor team members to promote engineering excellence

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 4 + years of experience managing large Software Development Teams and/or multiple Software Development Teams
· 2+ years of experience architecting complex mobile applications
· BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
