Alexa Mobile platform is looking for an exceptional software development manager to work on enabling Alexa – the voice controlled personal assistant behind Amazon Echo – on mobile devices. The team seeks to provide seamless experiences for customers when on-the-go.

As a technical leader, business leader, and people manager of the team, you will be working with internal and external business partners, software development engineers and testers, UI/UX designers to launch, maintain, and iterate on complex software applications that customers love. You will have significant influence on our overall mobile strategy, you will grow and develop a high-performing team, lead by example. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies and develop well-rounded leadership skills.

A successful candidate will have an established background of building native mobile apps, and experience with wireless technologies such as BLE and Bluetooth. You are a leader with progressive technical experience, a demonstrated progression of management scope, and a passion for managing engineering talent in a fast-paced environment.

· Responsible for the overall software development life cycle.
· Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
· Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.
· Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
· Contribute substantively to innovation on mobile and overcome technology limitations to deliver on customer experience.
· Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
· Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of frameworks.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 6+ years of experience designing and developing complex, interactive consumer applications
· 5+ years of experience with mobile application development on iOS, Android, React for Mobile development and variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C, Python) and open-source technologies.
· At least 3 years managing software development teams including hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
· Experience with delivering software projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies
· Experience and knowledge on embedded device software and wireless technologies - Bluetooth/BLE
· Experience with full-native, hybrid, and pure-web mobile app development
