Are you a strong software development leader with a passion for building and innovating customer facing applications and systems at scale? We are looking for software development leaders who want to be help drive product innovation and contribute to setting our product vision. You will be able to develop across multiple products and contribute your ideas to change how customers shop and discover great products on Amazon, potentially breaking new ground for the entire industry. Your work will be mobile first, but you should be passionate about expanding features to create true multi-device experiences that move seamlessly with the customer.

As Software Development Manager in the Amazon Consumables Customer Experience team, you will recruit and lead a high quality, creative, visionary software development team to build and innovate the technology platform that powers Amazon Consumables Shopping. Your team will drive and own innovations for multiple international locales. You will closely work with international business and software development teams based in multiple America, Europe, and Asia locations.

We are a strategic and well-funded area of growth for Amazon where you'll be involved in all aspects of product development from brainstorming the next innovation to working collaboratively with user research, engineering, product management to bring it to life.

As a tech leader of the team, you will:
· Influence and design the software architecture for a new customer shopping experience. Identify where to simplify, optimize, reduce overhead, and/or where solutions may be extensible.
· Deliver large/complex software system with effective scaling.
· Drive cross team collaboration. Tackles ambiguous problems partnering with business stakeholders.
· Improve the discoverability for consumable products in different channels by leveraging big data. Find smart ways to recommend consumable products. Scale the technical solutions.
· Be the technical expert on different retail platforms such as product search, detail page, post add-to-cart, deals, emails, product similarity/recommendations, Prime, pricing, content management and product catalog.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
· 8+ years of software development experience
· 3+ years of experience managing software development teams of 5-7 people
· Sound fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Experience with designing, launching and maintaining distributed systems at scale
