Scaling software across thousands of different hardware streaming devices is one of the fundamental engineering problems in Living Room technology! At its heart is the Native Platform Team, focused on creating a robust, performant, highly scalable, generic and comprehensive Application Development Framework, purpose-built to run on Living Room Devices. We already power Prime Video as our primary customer, with plans to expand adoption to other Amazon teams and beyond. Our team operates across the technology stack, providing our customers with access to the full range of on-device platform capabilities through both Native and Client SDKs.

To deliver against the mission, our solutions must be creative, expansive and state-of-the-art, and our team - in a perpetual state of invention. As part of the team, you will work beyond boundaries, get exposed, learn and leverage the full Prime Video technical stack.

In your passion to create first-class products, you will get limitless opportunities obsess about the customer-developer experience on a daily basis, collaborate on our technical strategy, work across multiple engineering teams, continuously learn new technologies, experiment and measure the outcomes of your work.You will be part of all stages of the software development life-cycle: definition, planning activities, design, implementation and delivery. You will be expected to Lead the design and development of core features, drive team discussions on system architecture and component design, and influence the technical strategy for the product as a whole.

Amazon's Prime Video is a premium on-demand video entertainment service that offers customers the greatest choice in what to watch from popular Prime Original TV shows (made by Amazon Studios) such as The Grand Tour, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan and the recent Golden Globe winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to Prime Original Movies like the Oscar-winning Manchester by the Sea and The Salesman. The service also offers TV shows that are exclusively available for Prime members in each country such as American Gods, MR ROBOT and Outlander, and more recently live sport including the US Open tennis from 2018 and Premier League games from 2019. Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
· Proficient in at least one of Java, C++, C#, Objective-C.
· Evidence of working with algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
· Evidence of working with object-oriented development and design patterns.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
