Want to shape how Alexa responds when someone asks her to play music? Interested in building systems that allow Alexa to talk naturally about music? Amazon Music is looking for a software engineer with a strong interest in machine learning to expand Alexa's conversational abilities, by working closely with a team of machine learning scientists in our downtown San Francisco office.

We are looking for a passionate and talented software engineer who has experience working with UX teams to build innovative applications that put customers first. You will have an opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of a conversational framework to make Alexa better at dialog interactions, while also diving deep to build initial working prototypes.

The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about Alexa and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills with design and product teams, machine learning scientists, and other SDEs are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance products requires exceptional technical expertise and a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality frontend solutions in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 3+ years experience
· 3+ years of experience building production software
· Experience in delivering products from inception
· Expertise in OOAD and System Design
· Expertise in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C, C++, C#
