Have you worked on commonly used libraries for Java, .NET, node, or other programming languages? Have you contributed to Open Source projects? Do you sometimes investigate or improve APIs in core libraries of your favorite language? If so, we want to talk to you!

AWS Developer Tools is expanding a team of software engineers driving the future of Java in Amazon. We are about optimization for high scalability, availability, and efficiency. We make high leveraged changes, that affect many Amazon and AWS services, and improve developer productivity across the company.

On this team you will play a role in the definition, vision, design, roadmap and development needed of the JDK at Amazon. You will:
· Iterate, test new ideas, and shape the future for services and libraries built on Java.
· Work with development teams across Amazon as your direct customers.
· Influence a wide spectrum of products and services developed at Amazon.

We will be willing to hire engineers at a higher level if their experience is applicable.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· In-depth knowledge of core library development for a widely used programming language.
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree based on 3 years of work experience for every 1-year of education.
· 3+ years professional experience in software development
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, and performance analysis.
· Proficiency in at least, one strongly typed programming language such as C, C++, C#, or Java.
· Proficiency in at least two programming languages such as programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby (Or any of your favorite functional languages).
