Amazon Fashion is a dynamic, fast-growing business and a key strategic area for the company. The online shopper faces challenges in discovering items that match their preferences, satisfy their needs, and inspire their sense of style.
The Amazon Fashion Innovation team is growing a multi-disciplinary team to address these customer needs through a new custom shopping experience. Our goal is create a fun and engaging experience that enables us to learn about our customers, produce personalized recommendations of products they will love, and make the online fashion shopping experience simple and easy.
Our technical challenges involve a combination of back-end software engineering, user interface development, and applied science. As a software engineer on the team:
· You will build a customer facing product across the whole software development life cycle.
· You will design and build distributed systems, including both back-end and front-end components.
· You will build software that is highly available, performant, scalable, and extensible.
· You will work with cross-functional teams including user researchers, UI/UX designers, machine learning scientists, product managers, and other software engineers.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and skills.
· At least two years of experience writing production code.
· Experience developing on Linux or another Unix variant.
Proficiency with at least one modern programming language such as Java, and C++.
· Knowledge of at least one VHLL/scripting language, e.g. Ruby, Python, Perl.
· Experience with object-oriented and/or functional design.
· Experience refactoring code.
· Experience programming defensively and writing unit/integration/functional and regression tests.
· A demonstrated mindset of continuous improvement, applied to oneself and others
