Amazon Robotics Sortation Planning team extends state-of-the art Amazon's Fulfillment Centers solutions to the new area of robotic package sortation. You will be part of the team that designs, prototypes, builds, integrates, tests, launches and runs software solutions that optimize and controls sortation process including fully automated robotic stations. As a software development engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of a complex software system. You will be working with a cross-functional team to prototype, design, and develop software solutions that span service oriented and cloud-based systems.

The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new and foundational products and features. A commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance software products requires technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. This person has delivered high-quality technology products/services in a high-growth environment.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Completed BS in Computer Science or equivalent
· 3+ years of experience building successful production software platforms and systems
· 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java or C++ as well as other high-level languages such as Objective-C and Python
· Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability.
