SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDE can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. The Kindle Content Inspection and Automation (KCIA) team is searching for a strong individual contributor in software development. As a software development engineer (SDE), you will build systems to analyze text, images, video, and audio. The position demands a very hands-on candidate with passion for solving hard problems.
The role of SDE includes but is not limited to

· Build scalable algorithms for analyzing content
· Knowledge in machine learning concepts, tools and implementations
· Evaluate internal and external technologies to solve difficult business challenges while balancing long term and short term needs
· Deep dive on existing technical issues and provide comprehensive solutions
· Successfully launch software that improves a major portion of a product or applications

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· B.E or B.A degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience, is required.
· 3+ years software development experience
· Experience developing scalable software to deliver customer value
· Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
· Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
