The Kindle Unlimited tech team owns the technology that delivers the end-to-end eBook subscription and borrowing experiences on the retail website, 1P tablets and phones, 3P tablets and phones, and 1P touch and non-touch e-Ink devices. We provide customers with access to millions of titles, spanning 13 marketplaces (US, UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, CN, IN, JP, MX, CA, BR and AU), and ten languages. We are the team that ships: Kindle Unlimited, Prime Reading, and several other project you may have never heard about. We are part of the Digital Bookstore, work with multiple Amazon businesses.

We are looking for … an experienced Engineer, passionate about shipping great software. One who enjoy iterating and finding creative solutions for tough problems. Somebody not afraid of a challenge beyond what previously accomplished.

What you will do here: You will provide technical leadership and vision to the services and experiences teams. You will ensure that the best engineering practices are followed and that our software is designed to be responsive, reliable and maintainable. You will work closely with other teams in Digital Bookstore and Amazon to architect solutions that will scale to hundreds of millions of customers. You will be a role model and mentor for other engineers on the team.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
·
· 5+ years experience building successful production software systems
·
· Experience in OOP, Java or C++, Perl, and Web development (AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS), highly scalable systems, device development and performance testing.
·
· Able to operate and lead through ambiguous in fast paced environment.
·
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
