RBS Tech is developing an automated solution – Sherlock – to ‘Walk the Store' (WTS) in a scalable fashion. Sherlock uses Deep Learning algorithms to search across Amazon's selection, looking for products that might have errors and that may disrupt customers' shopping experiences. The suspect items are reviewed for validation and fixed, in the process helping the machine to learn. This year the team worked on identifying Text attribute mismatch issues and image color issues. We also started building a highly scalable engineering platform that will allow us audit millions of ASINs each day. The errors identified by Sherlock are consumed and fixed by multiple business teams in Amazon Retail Organization.
For the next year, we have three very interesting and highly ambiguous use cases like image issues, detecting variations errors (IVF and UVF), expanding the scope of Text attribute mismatches. Some of the engineering challenges ahead of us are, to strengthen the architecture to transform Sherlock into multi-tenant engineering platform, enhance the rules engine to support self-serve capabilities, design and develop the new signals and core service components for this platform. We also plan to revamp our core analyzer engine through automated data-generation, model-training and publishing pipelines. We are looking for experienced Software Development Engineer for design and development of scalable software solutions and services.
Sherlock team won the "Valuable Risk" award during the 2018 Amazon Tech Conference for its innovation. For next 2 years we have many other interesting use cases on our roadmap with potential multi-million dollar impact to the business.
As a SDE with Sherlock team, you will work with talented peers of SDEs and Applied scientists to build a robust engineering platform, develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to solve these high impact issues. Your work will directly impact our customer experience, save millions in concessions. You will constantly stretch the boundaries of innovation to tackle the business challenges. If you are customer obsessed, self-driven, tenacious and analytical individual with a flair for machine learning, you will have fun solving our business problems of unprecedented scale.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
· 5+ years' full-time experience in software design and development.
· Proficiency with at least one Object Oriented language (e.g. Java, Python).
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
· A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects
· Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Experience with building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
· A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly and get things done
