DESCRIPTION

Would you like to make history in Amazon's industry-leading cloud computing space? Data Center Global Services (DCGS) is looking for a project manager to oversee a global writing skills training program that supports data center operations. This project manager will develop a global training program designed to improve employee English-language business writing and procedural writing skills. Responsibilities will include program design, program execution, and data analysis and reporting.

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and demanding work environment is critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with fundamental knowledge of program management, experience with managing global training programs, demonstrate strong relationship and strategic influencing skills, and exhibit a passion for process improvement. This individual must have a proven record of delivering results through strong program management skills, problem solving skills, process re-engineering, and a focus on customer experience.

DCGS is responsible for building and maintaining the electrical plants, cooling plants, and physical spaces that support Amazon's servers. The technical writing team plays a vital role in keeping data centers up and running by making sure the methods and procedures that engineers and technicians follow are clearly and completely described and steps are easy to follow.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a structure to manage and maintain writing training materials and coordinate global delivery of writing skills training.
* Manage and prioritize projects to achieve each year's goals and vision by working with project managers and/or business owners. May own a few projects independently and collaborate with global teams that support business launches.
* Escalate any risks and resource needs in a timely manner.
* Ensure appropriate resources are aligned to deliver results.
* Coordination of the project roadmap, including tracking tool and intake process.
* Design and implement data collection mechanisms for the purpose of measuring quality, customer satisfaction, and defining SLAs.
* Design metrics reports for leadership that will convey overall program performance.
* Drafting of project documentation.
* Reporting on project progress and status.
* Work with documentation management systems and help oversee the lifecycle of documents.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field
* A minimum of 3 years of project or program management experience
* Demonstrated application of strong critical thinking and analytical skills
* Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to write clearly and with grammatical accuracy
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and focus on quality and accuracy
* Exceptional organizational skills, and ability to work independently and autonomously
* Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects with tight deadlines and time-critical deliverables through their entire life cycle
* Core Program and Project Management skills (regular updates, data audits, review meetings, process audits)
