Job description

DESCRIPTION

Do you want to make a difference to real people's lives and have direct and immediate impact on millions of customers every day? Do you enjoy leading projects including engineers and machine learning scientists working on innovative, high-scale, complex solutions?

An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Program Manager to join Amazon Advertising’s worldwide Customer Trust team as part of a strategic investment to build technology that will enable Amazon to adopt the most scientific approach to protecting our customers from online safety risks. As the number of digital media users continues to grow worldwide, we are observing malicious users exploiting the internet for personal gain. Come be part of an organisation within Amazon that places customer trust at the heart of what it does, and where the safety of internet users is paramount.

You will coordinate risk prevention activities across internal teams managing the life-cycle and inter-dependencies of a complex cross-functional program with considerable customer impact. Your program will focus in large initiatives that span organizations and geographies in support of prevention and mitigation of online safety risks. Starting with customers, stakeholders, and internal/external partner teams, you will work backwards to understand their needs/problem(s) and incorporate their context into project plans with clear, and measurable success criteria. You will have the opportunity to drive the overall program strategy as well as tactically driving teams in and outside your organization to deliver business response, system improvements and operational excellence.

You will have experience solving ambiguous problems and mitigating risks before they become issues, demonstrating good judgment, and proactively seeking data for ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. You will partner with other managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery. You will ensure the right information about the state of a project is delivered to the right audience at the right time and creating reporting mechanisms that clearly articulate the scope, timeline, risks, and mitigation steps at every stage of the program to drive resolution of complex or endemic problems.

Come join a team based in Edinburgh, Scotland, that is rapidly expanding. Enjoy the chance to work in a relaxed setting with a good social life. You will have strong technical ability, a focus on the customer experience, great teamwork and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The position offers exceptional opportunities for every candidate to grow their technical and non-technical skills. If you are selected, you have the opportunity to make a difference to people's lives by inventing, enhancing and building world class systems, delivering results, working on exciting and challenging projects.
