About us:
Amazon Global Selling (AGS) team is focused on breaking down barriers to allow 3rd party sellers to sell their items to customers around the world. The AGS team develops software that removes friction from the process of cross border selling for 3rd party sellers.

In this role you will lead a team that owns a core platform upon which multiple global selling businesses are built, enabling sellers and vendors on Amazon to effortlessly list and sell their products worldwide. This system is pivotal to supporting 3rd party business expansion by creating new opportunities for sellers to introduce their products to customers around the world. We need your help to grow the business by building highly-available, scalable distributed systems that provide clean interfaces between sellers, customers and Amazon's software.

The Amazon Global Selling team is looking for experienced SDMs for their development team in Seattle. This team will be focused on developing features to remove complexity from the process of cross border selling for 3P Sellers and Customers and help expand selection globally. Shortening the distance between Sellers and Customers, helping Sellers rapidly begin selling in new countries, and reducing the time spent managing a global catalog and business are just a few of the opportunities that exist.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Electrical or related technical discipline.
· 7+ years of software development experience.
· 3+ years as a development manager managing teams of 5-10 engineers.
· Experience mentoring and training the engineering community on complex technical issues.
· Proven track record of building and managing high performing engineering teams.
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices of the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
· Experience delivering low-latency, consumer-internet-scale software systems operating in a 24x7 environment.
· Deep understanding of system architecture and OO Design.
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
· Ability to learn a lot quickly.
· Enthusiasm for working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
