Our Great China Region (GCR) customers are transforming the way to deliver digital native services to their users, employees and partners. AWS GCR is looking for technology savvy leaders with experience in communicating and marketing IT solutions, preferably to enterprise customers. The Digital Innovation Specialist plays a critical role in accelerating the implementation of replicable innovative cloud successes.

An Innovation Challenge is any problem or opportunity that end customers deem significant in their community/domain and that relies at least partially on information technologies. Tangible problems such as tracking product quality, sharing mobility data or enhancing workforce awareness and literacy are examples of potential challenges. The innovation challenge can be thought of as a rapid product development lifecycle opportunity.

Above all the Digital Innovation Specialist is an organizer of activities, a builder of communities, a product manager, an innovation coach, and a spokesperson for engagement who works hand-in-hand with an end customer sponsor to communicate the value in Innovation Challenge participation. Innovation Challenge stakeholders include end customers that share the same mission as well as technology and solution vendors that have applicable solutions. Building on the Amazon ‘working backwards’ approach to innovation, the challenge process can be seen as a strategic business development campaign that engages with the various stakeholders through the full range of communication mechanisms.

We are seeking cloud-savvy leaders that bring direct experience in IT business development, product management, communications, and innovation management. Using this experience, working with the end customer sponsor, you will bring together AWS GCR customers and technology partners to identify and demonstrate alternative challenge solutions. You will have a virtual AWS team built to collaborate with and leverage the institutional capabilities of the end customer sponsor to address challenges. An ability to adapt quickly and work cooperatively with varied subject matter experts is essential.

Core responsibilities:

· Identify: Work with sponsor institutional assets to identify and prioritize Innovation Challenges that will have maximum impact. Help to define the specific stakeholder community needed for the Innovation Challenge.
· Community: Assess the potential to engage the specific Innovation Challenge community and design communications and outreach programming. Lead Amazon innovation workshops to energize and engage the community.
· Collaborate: Facilitate communication amongst stakeholders in implementing the ‘working backwards’ approach to innovation as well as facilitating the workshops themselves. Build communication plan and leverage innovation infrastructure, that you will help design, to enable persistent engagement.
· Enhance: Work with Innovation Challenge participants, including technology partners, to iterate through and experiment with solution options.
· Document: Work with Innovation Challenge participants to create assets, on both what worked well and what failed, to be shared out with existing Innovation Challenge community and also other solutions.
· Share: Promote the ‘change the world’ digital transformation agenda by vigorously promoting Innovation Challenge solution assets in collaboration with AWS partners and business units. Represent the voice of the customer and remain accountable for exposing the business opportunity represented by the challenge.
· Position is located in mainland China. Ability to travel at least 50% of working time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Master or above degree in computer science, software engineering, design or statistics.
· Knowledge of innovation and product management approaches, ideally with Amazon-specific experience.
· Entrepreneurial experience, including founding new digital native businesses, or creating and launching new digital products
· Knowledge of AWS services and their application in industries such as finance, manufacture, automotive or media and entertainment.
· Background in product management and branding.
· Background in business development, market analysis, and value proposition development in response to enterprises requests for proposal, requests for tender.
· Experience working as a marketing manager for an IT solution provider.
· Experience working as an innovation coach including leading workshops.
· Experience in coding, especially in using Python for data, AI and other technical topics
· Experience in writing technical reports, trends analysis and CxO strategic narratives
· Background in data science and engineering as a plus

Desired profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, communications, marketing, business, information technology management, or other related discipline.
· Minimum of 6 years of IT industry experience in product management, pre-sales, or technical audience marketing.
· Minimum 3 years of professional writing experience specifically focused on communicating complex IT concepts, value propositions, and use cases in a manner easily understood by non-technical stakeholders and business owners.
· 3+ years of user experience engineering or related design, especially in mobile apps, AI innovations with IoT, and other UX activities
· 5+ years in conducting customer workshops as a consultant, architect or designer
· 3+ years in using Axure and/or other UX tools to produce UX designs
