In Alexa Shopping, we strive to enable shopping in everyday life. We allow customers to instantly order whatever they need, by simply interacting with their Alexa-enabled Smart Devices such as Echo or Fire TV. This is a unique opportunity to apply your economic expertise to the world of Voice Shopping.

As an Economist on this team your responsibilities will include:

Measure / Quantify / Expand
· Design, size, and analyze field experiments at scale.
· Apply econometric or statistical knowledge to identify and improve Alexa Customer Engagement KPIs (using machine learning techniques is a plus)
· Retrieve, synthesize, and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to answering specific questions or improving key performance indicators.
· Analyze historical data to identify trends and support decision making.
Explore / Enlighten
· Formalize assumptions about how Alexa Voice Shopping is expected to work.
· Given anomalies, whether anecdotal or identified automatically, deep dive to explain why they happen, and identify fixes.
Decide / Recommend
· Build decision-making models and propose solution for the business problem you defined
· Analyze A/B tests and recommend ways to making them faster and more robust

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· PhD in Economics, Statistics, Finance or related field
· At least 2 years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, Stata, Matlab)
· Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at a solution using available data
