DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is adding a Business Intelligence Engineer to the Central InfraOps Analytics team. This is a new space to help define how we use data to understand customer behavior and satisfaction. In this role, you will develop and support the analytic technologies that give our teams flexible and structured access to their data, including defining metrics KPIs, dataset analysis, report optimization, and report automation.

As a BIE, you will work with BI tools regularly and partner with internal stakeholders to drive changes within the business. You will access and work with data from multiple sources and scripts using SQL. You will also model multidimensional data-sets, and work with customers to answer key business questions. This role is analytical, creative and offers the opportunity to work in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

Daily Responsibilities:
· Interface with internal customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions.
· Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL.
· Lead customer utilization research projects to better understand how our customers are using our product.
· Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
· Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
· Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes by automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.
· Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related technical field (or 5+ years of work experience)
· 5+ years of years of experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, market research or related field
· Experience managing and processing pre-existing Microsoft Excel-based datasets into more robust reporting solutions.
· Experience gathering/documenting business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics, and build reports.
· Experience with ETL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
· 3+ years with SQL
