DESCRIPTION

The Applied Scientist - Roboticist is a technical leader of significant product components or subsystems, with influence at the team level. This person is required to have deep knowledge in core robotics domains such perception, planning, and control. Relevant technologies include 2D and 3D computer vision, machine learning, optimization, computational geometry, and manipulator kinematics. In addition to traditional software development skills, the Applied Scientist Roboticist must be a domain expert in manipulation and grasping.

The Applied Scientist - Roboticist is responsible for:
· Experimenting, evaluating, and developing innovative algorithms for high-performance robotic systems
· Executing technical programs from concepts to proof of concept for our fulfillment operations
· Designing experiments to resolve ambiguity inherent in robotic systems
· Inventing ways to demonstrate new functionality in the context of early R & D
· Staying abreast of the latest research and rapidly evaluating new approaches

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent
· Minimum of 2 years' experience developing object-oriented C++ software; exceptional new graduates with appropriate project experience may be considered
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
· Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Domain expertise in robotic manipulation
