Purpose
Business Strategy is one of the units of the Corporate Strategy Division with the role to perform projects on complex strategic issues in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, support the Excom to define the strategy at Corporate level, identifying main threats and opportunities, provide strategic assessment on M&A targets and support definition/implementation of main growth opportunities for the company.
As part of the Business Strategy team, the Strategy Manager will directly lead strategy projects with main stakeholders in the company (direct counterparts at Director/VP level)
Key Accountabilities
Definition and delivery of strategic project to drive further growth for the company
The Strategy Manager is in charge of structuring, leading and delivering complex strategic projects requested by the Excom, with close coordination with the business lines and the relevant functions (direct counterparts at Director/VP level).
On top, the Strategy Manager will take a leading role on specific Growth areas, decided with the Excom, to support Amadeus Growth Strategy. To do that, he/she will work closely with the business line(s) to define the right strategy and go to market to maximize value for Amadeus, identify and support discussions with potential partners or acquisition targets, run workshop to unlock operational issues, create synergies with other Amadeus entities
Projects of this magnitude usually involve many stakeholders internally and externally, require a deep analysis of the possible scenarios and of the most appropriate responses from Amadeus.
His/her role is also to identify potential roadblocks, raise flags and propose solutions internally to unlock them, so recommendations can be implemented effectively.
M&A assessment: the Strategy Manager will support the overall Division to identify, filter and assess in details potential acquisition targets supporting Amadeus Long Term Strategy
Coaching / Virtual Team Management: the Strategy Manager will manage a virtual team composed of more junior team members, internal stakeholders and external resources. His role will be to support the framing of the problem solving (how to structure an analysis / prepare a workshop), share best practices and feedback to develop team members to ensure quality and applicability of the deliverables and create value and impact for Amadeus. He will participate to the yearly performance assessment of the team members he/she worked with during the year.
Education
A Graduate Degree from a well known academic institution (Business and/ or Engineering) is a must as is a demonstrated track record in consulting or in business line.
Relevant Work Experience
A minimum of 4-5 years in a Tier-1 Strategy consultancy
Business Understanding
High level of knowledge of the Travel and IT industries. Good understanding of Strategy and Planning functions in large international companies.
Skills
Outstanding ability to understand, analyze and make sensible recommendations about complex issues involving many open parameters
Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders at Sr. level to identify and extract relevant pieces of information key to profiling and addressing the issues at hand Strong ability to communicate in an articulate manner to the most Sr. levels within and outside of the company
