Team Description

The team ERP (E-retail & Personalisation) is developing the User Interface of the eRetail product which is the generic booking website for airlines.

In addition, the team is responsible for the customization engine that is allowing airlines to push dedicated content on their website. The customers are then the airlines with their representative implementation team within Amadeus.

Main responsibilities

The aim of the internship is to help the team to study specificities of latest generation mobile devices (smartphones, tablets and smartwatches mainly) to determine mechanisms to optimize Amadeus product user interface to exploit device’s capabilities and provide a reference skeleton application to exercise the framework.

Mobile devices market is a key differentiator for airlines taking off significantly since high speed connectivity is becoming widely available to the public. In order to benefit from these new devices capabilities, a mechanism to allow customers to customize existing product interfaces.

The trainee will participate in performingan analysis of cross platform mobile frameworks and development environments. Based on the outcome of this preliminary study, the trainee will help the team to propose an architecture for a user interface framework to adapt user interface outputs and behavior to the client capabilities (multitouch, proximy sensor, accelerometer, geolocalization,…). The trainee will finally participate in implementing a sample prototype and provide guidelines and recommendations for mobile web interfaces implementation and customization.

Requirements

The trainee will be required to produce a specification document, comprehensively describing the project using appropriate tooling and standards.
The trainee will be proficient in web technologies (HTML/CSS/Javascript), Java and potentially Objective C programming languages within a J2EE server-side environment. Fluent technical English, both written and spoken, is required.

The trainee will have to demonstrate his ability to communicate within a team as well as his motivation to achieve a task within a defined timeframe.
