Team Description:

The final step for an airline passenger before boarding their plane is to perform check-in. Traditionally, this was done at a desk by an agent, but nowadays nearly all airlines allow customers to check themselves in, either automatically, through the internet (website or mobile app), or on a kiosk machine in the airport. This saves time for customers and allows airlines to reduce costs, as they need fewer agents in the airport.

Here at the Self-Service Check-In (SSCI) team, we manage all Research and Development for self-service, going from APIs to websites to physical kiosks, using various fronted, backend and embedded technologies. We sell this product to hundreds of airlines across the world, as part of the Amadeus Altea solution suite.

Main Responsibilities:

We want to improve the passenger experience before and during boarding, by leveraging the possibilities of modern mobile technology: RFID baggage, NFC payment, geolocation, camera document scanning- all of these can save time and hassle for passengers.

Progressive web-apps are the future of mobile: They will allow access to advanced mobile functionality (camera, bluetooth, offline etc) without having to be installed from an application store.

The objective of the intership is to develop a prototype web app, based on the Amadeus Digital API,that will use the power of Progressive to make the check-in experience better.

Requirements:

· Fluent in English
· Knowledge in coding projects
· Github profile would be a plus
