How do airlines manage their bookings and drive their revenue? What are the protections they put in place against fraud activity? How do they reward good practices? If you are interested in these questions, join our team and help to counter malevolent behaviors against airline revenue integrity.

The airline IT revenue management department is in charge of the availability calculation in interaction with the inventory system and with airlines agents through its graphical user interface… Made of motivated teams, we are working closely with our customers/partners who are airlines looking for the most advanced inventory and revenue management system features in the industry. Our products are in constant evolution. They must frequently integrate the latest state of the art technology to sustain high volumes and complexity of transactions and must continuously incorporate innovative enhancements to always feature the right functionality for our customers.

Main Responsibilities

Our teams are currently addressing the issues encountered by airlines with fraud activity and other kind of system misuses. A brand new product is being launched in production. We would like to monitor these abusive behaviors and protect the airline inventory and revenue. A new idea is envisaged and currently under analysis. Travel agents are not all equal, some of them bring a lot of revenue to airlines using efficient processes while others try to misuse the system and get fraudulent bookings. All these different behaviors need specific responses from airlines revenue management and inventory systems. With this project, Active Valuation would allow the Airlines to dynamically adjust the inventory availability proposed to the travel agents according to indicators measuring their general behaviors. This project aims at creating a new tool that would be able to apply different strategies to different situations.

This internship aims at finalizing the analysis of this new idea and implementing a prototype to evaluate the value of such a tool as a new product for Amadeus customers. The internship will go through three phases:

1/ Analysis/Conception

Help the team to determine the scope of the idea and define which behavior indicators should be used to monitor the travel agents.

2/ Development

Participate in implementing the prototype in test system. Development language should be C++ and JAVA on UNIX and Oracle environments.

3/ Testing and Validation

Help the team tovalidate the prototype with a test plan and determine the value it could represent for airlines based on scenarios taken from real transactions.
