Team description:

The Amadeus Anytime Merchandising userinterface lets airline staff define new merchandising actions such as ancillary service discounts. However assessing the future business impact of a new action is not straightforward for the users. As a result, introducing a new action may potentially lead to negative impacts and could be regarded as a risky operation.

To mitigate this risk, we will add A/B testing capabilities so to test the impact of a new action on a small portion of the traffic. If the analysis of this action’s KPIs is satisfactory, the user will be able to make it live.

Before going live even on a small portion of the traffic, the users could benefit from a first forecast of the new action’s impact. What would be the probable impact of this action if it were introduced now?

Main responsibilities:

The goal of the internship is to explore data mining and pattern recognition technics in order to forecast the probable impact of a new action, given the database of already live actions and their impacts on the traffic.

A successful candidate has a very good academic knowledge on those technics, is able to make educated choices for the suitable algorithms to help the team to implement and is keen on implementing them on a Big Data environment.
