Research & Developement- New Businesses (R&D-NBU) Technical Consulting is investigating ideas for new products and services for the Hotel IT, Airport systemsand Distribution channels.

Topic description

XSell Performance Monitoring

This topic consists in analyzing the hotel bookings that result from a successful transformation of a Cross Sell proposal into a definite hotel booking.

The analysis will serve in turn to enhance our hotel recommendation logic, from a rule-based system today to a machine learning engine tomorrow.

The engine will learn from the observation of real hotel bookings what type of hotel/location/star rating/price range/ratings are more likely to be selected by travel agents (real TAs or On-line TAs) depending on the Travel agent (commissions, registration to various content systems called aggregators) and on the traveler him/herself (nationality, travel class, affluence, etc).

It is a big data topic (100 GB of hotel booking data is generated every day) which implies an interest in related technologies : Hadoop/Spark/No SQL/Machine learning

Requirements

Required skills:

- Mathematics, statistics, time series: ARIMA, decision tree, econometric, stochastic, etc…

- Statistical tool such as R, SAS, SPSS

- Machine learning

- Parallel Processing engine such as Hadoop, Spark

- Data mining (K means, clustering)

- Front-end development

- Java, Scala development

Personal required skills:

- Good analytics and strong mathematical skills

- Able to handle complex problem

- Strong willing to innovate

- Willing to understand the value of the data
