Automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS–B) is a technology in which an aircraft transmits its GPS position to antennas that are listening to the corresponding frequency. ADS-B is part of the next generation traffic control systems, and is currently widely adopted by the airline industry. The technology is used by sites such as flightradar24.com to display flights in real time on a map. Amadeus is exploring the possibilities to use real time flight positions in combination with the vast amount of travel related data that the Amadeus system possesses.

The goal of this specific internship is to create a game that uses the GPS position of a handheld device, together with real time flight positions of nearby flights, and creates challenges based on this data. It could for example be contextual questions on the closest flights, and the player would earn points as he answers to questions. This could be integrated with the airline loyalty system, and top players could earn real miles. This isonly aguideline and the point is to create a fun experience based on the mobile phone position and the planes that are near.

The intern will participate in following activities:

· Participate to define the features of the game.
· Help the team to implement the game within a native mobile application. The intern will be free to select the technical stack.

The intern will integrate a group that is working together to innovate on the real time area. Within the project there will be the opportunity to work on the latest front and backend technologies, as well as hardware (Mobile devices, Raspberry Pi, ADS-B antenna).
