Business Environment

The Finance Reporting department is responsible for organising and coordinating monthly financial reporting of Amadeus sas, the largest R&D centre of the Amadeus group, in compliance with IFRS and French GAAP and is the usual entry point for financial audits.
The department has also for mission to optimise the working capital, and is in charge of Tax planning and grants submissions (such as Research tax credit).

The Management Accounting team is in charge of:
    • The management of the Software Development capitalization process and D&A including the documentation of the capitalized amounts, (1 700 mios euros in cumulative value & 350 mios euros in 2015, ie approx. 25% EBITDA), the reporting, impairment tests in compliance with IFRS and French GAAP as well Research Tax Credit evaluation (20 mios€)
    • The management of intercompany contracts in the context of the Group Transfer Pricing policy/model as well as the monitoring of tax audits.

Summary of the role

In charge of the preparation, with autonomy, of financial information, analysis, planning, follows up and reporting services to internal clients (management, Corporate Finance) related to Airline IT Software development capitalization, impairment reviews and depreciations.
Accountable for the collection / control of the documentation required to justify the capital expenditure and for the presentation to the external and internal audit teams.

Main responsibilities

    • Contribute to the production of monthly closing figures and analyses /recommendations to:
        • Corporate Finance and Controlling directors,
        • Investors relationship teams
        • BU/R&D VP and directors
Capitalization and D&A analyses are based on multiple dimensions (BU, products….) which requires complex investigations based on a good knowledge of information systems.
    • Perform a tight follow up of the actions needed to recover the target, including coordination of numerous actors from BU and R&D divisions.
    • Review business cases information and challenge/ask for correction to controlling teams, project management offices and commercial accounts regarding the relevance of the key business assumptions to ensure compliance with IFRS for capitalization purpose. Alert in case projects have not been submitted to Investment Committee in time.
    • Planning:
        • Active contribution to the preparation of Budgets, forecasts, and long term plans with controlling departments
        • build financial models related to capitalization and amortization to simulate mid and long term scenarios regarding KPI significantly impacting the EBIT target defined by Amadeus board. Presentation of the key results to management and perform the implementation process if required
    • Optimize and secure working processes by automating calculations in SAP. Review solutions proposed by GBS team. Challenge, propose and influence /motivate for new solutions if proposed ones are not sufficiently satisfactory.
    • Is able to detect issues that may prevent to meet deadlines and work autonomously to propose solutions to management.
    • Analyse the IFRS evolutions and is able to identify potential impacts on current process and key financial ratios. Propose new or alternative approaches to optimize /mitigate the consequences of the potential changes.
    • Contribution to profitability analyses for transfer pricing documentation purposes.

• Education: University degree in Finance, Business or Economics, or equivalent work professional qualification experience
