Purpose

Amadeus is seeking an experienced, autonomous, collaborative and user-focused writer to join our Technical Authoring Group.

You will join an established team of technical authors located primarily in Nice, with colleagues in Antwerp, London and Munich.

You will take full ownership of the documentation for one or more Amadeus products, collaborating with colleagues in customer service, product management, product development and product definition, to design and develop the information users need to be successful with your products.

Key accountabilities

What we are looking for in you:

· A learner mind-set, willing to approach the varying complexity of Amadeus products, as well as all technical writing tools, with curiosity and tenacity.
· The demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical documentation like specs and user stories into clear and concise, user-focused language.
· A commitment to consistent growth in the role, toward a comprehensive understanding of the products under your responsibility, with a focus on user types and the information they need to succeed with a product. This includes user-targeted information such as tasks and concepts, scenarios, workflows and any other relevant information.
· Full ownership of projects from start to finish, with the ability to deliver user-focused learning solutions on time.
· Strong, autonomous project management skills that include planning and scheduling your workload, as well as communicating roadblocks well in advance.
· Excellent collaboration skills with all product stakeholders, including customers, internal and external colleagues and management.
· Willing adherence to defined templates, processes and guidelines.
· A willingness to eventually fulfil specialty roles within the group such as editing or peer reviewing.
· Mentoring other writers when required.
· Solicit and act on customer ratings and feedback for products under your responsibility.
· The flexibility to adopt new strategies and methods when required.
· A passion for innovation, particularly in discovering new ways to clearly communicate complex technical ideas.

Education

· University degree, or formal qualification in Technical Writing, or equivalent work experience
· English
· Technical authoring tools

Relevant work experience

· 2 years of experience as a Technical Author
· Topic-based writing and single sourcing experience
· Travel Industry, Airline Industry, Hotel Industry, Airport Industry or Accounting/Finance Industry background a plus
· Amadeus product knowledge a plus

Specific competencies

· Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word
· Experience with Madcap Flare a plus
· Knowledge of graphic design in technical documentation a plus
· Fluent English, with excellent and assertive written and verbal communication skills, within a multicultural environment.
