Business environment

Travel Intelligence portfolio comprises of Business Intelligence products and solutions providing decision supporting tools to Airlines, Travel Agencies, Corporations, Destination Marketing Offices. Using state-of-the-art Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Cassandra, MongoDB, Qlik, Tableau….), large amounts of data are processed, aggregated, and provided to end users in intuitive and user friendly User Interfaces.

As part of the CSS-Q&T division, QTI (Quality, Travel Intelligence) is handling a wide scope of quality-related subjects of Travel Intelligence products, from Component tests to UAT, including System tests. Using Amadeus best QA practices as well as specific tooling, we devise innovative test strategies addressing the particular needs of Big Data processing validation.

With a large degree of autonomy, we take up the challenges of new technologies to validate Data Quality, web services performance, UI tests to achieve the best customer satisfaction.

In close partnership with Product Management, integrated within fully Agile development teams, we are leading the quality activities and awareness, and are also involved with business analysis and incident management. Partnership also extends geographically to QA engineers located in Bangalore, ensuring a perfect community of practice between both locations.

Purpose

As part of a scrum team, you are in charge of developing, executing and maintaining software test scenarios, with the aim of making and keeping the software at expected quality level. You are accountable for test strategy implementation, and establishing quality report.

When applicable, automate test execution using tools like Selenium or SoapUI

Propose innovative tooling and strategies to test BI processing, adapted to Big Data specificities

Raise awareness and act as a leader of quality inside the scrum team.

Key accountabilities

· Implement test strategy for Travel Intelligence product quality, in compliance with the global test strategy
· Responsible for the project, product or release quality control
· Propose innovative testing methodology, evaluate test tools adapted to Big Data, interface them with test management tools (ALM, jenkins, Software Factory, AQR)
· Act as a quality lead in Agile scrum team ; document processes and raise awareness within the team
· Participate in specification/User Story reviews to provide input on testability requirements
· Define User Story acceptance criteria
· Define test cases in ALM from customer’s requirements and User Story definition. Ensure traceability with specifications and requirements
· Write test plan (User story functional and/or non functional and/or product regression)
· Design test cases for UI, data processing, data quality and web services (Selenium, SQL, shell scripts, SoapUI, jMeter…)
· Develop automated test case scripts for UI, data processing, data quality and web services
· Prepare test environment and test data, and execute the test cases
· Maintain test case repository (Git, ALM)
· Ensure improvement/efficiency of non regression test suite
· Provide information to developers in order to fix defects. Perform PTR fix verification
· Give go/no-go for the load of Production PTR fixes
· Responsible for IR/PTRs coordination within the scrum team
· Document software defects
· Take part in IR/PTR investigation
· Responsible for reporting and communicating on test activities to the line organisation, software developers and product owner
· Provide US test status to Product Owner ;
· Sign-off production/UAT software loads
· Monitor correct coverage and results of UT maintained by DEV
· May act as QA Manager in specific cases
· Coordinate / synchronize with BLR QA team ; exchange processes and best practices

Education

University degree in IT or Scientific studies or related field, or equivalent work experience

English

ISTQB certification is a plus

Relevant work experience

A first experience as aQA position, preferably in BI or Big Data domain.

The job requires autonomy, innovative thinking and proactivity, as the domain is all new.

Specific competencies

· Scripting Programming Languages
· Shell scripting, SQL, Java/Selenium, SoapUI, ALM ; JavaScript, Software Workbench, Git are welcome.
· Experience working in a scrum team is a plus
