Title: Development of aRevenue Management web application prototype using the Elasticsearch platform

Team Description : Did you ever wonder why the guy seated next to you in the airplane has paid his ticket three times more than you did? This is all because of the Revenue Management System of the airline. The aim of a revenue management system is to maximize the airline revenue by offering the right product to the right customer at the right time at the right price. Amadeus has launched its Altéa Revenue Management System product several years ago and has now reached a recognized maturity level in the industry, proposing cutting-edge algorithms to optimize the revenue of large airlines including Scandinavian airlines and Singapore airlines.

The 'Revenue Management Dashboards' team is part of a transversal department focused on Statistical Studies and User Experience revolving around Revenue Management products. The team is responsible for designing and developing decision support solutions for Revenue Management end users, airline analysts. State-of-the-art user interfaces are delivered to help airlines dig into in the huge amount of data generated every day on Hadoop clustersand provide intuitive means to control the Revenue Management application. The team has the ambition to create web interfaces providing an optimal user experience focused on customer needs.

Main Responsibilities :
The trainee will study the feasibility, then design and developaweb application relying on Elasticsearch technologies (including Logstash / Kibana) in order tohost Revenue Management dashboards,as a possible alternative or complementary solution to the existing platform based on Hadoop for thebackend part and on Javascript frameworks on the UI side. She/he will especially have to evaluate performance, user experience and the level of flexibility of data mining features of the Elasticsearch prototype she/he will have designed in the scope of the internship. The ultimate objective will be forthe trainee to provide a factual analysis of how Elasticsearch technologies can be a technical match for the functional requirements of Revenue Management web interfaces delivered to end users.

Requirements

· Good general knowledge ofBig Data ecosystems (Hadoop)
· Good knowledge of Elasticsearch platforms, concrete experience is a plus
· Good level of automony
· Strong taste for new technology discovery
· Interest in the airline industry
