Team description:

The Ground Transportation development team in Amadeus is shared across 4 worldwide rail development departments (Sophia-Antipolis in France, Sydney in Australia, Bangalore in India and Bad Homburg in Germany). These teams are incharge of both distribution and IT projects for the ground transportation industry (rail, subways, buses and coaches). There are opportunities and challenges in the coming years, in which Amadeus aims at increasing the number of roviders distributed as well as proposing new functionalities and products based on cutting - edge technologies. You will be integrated in a very international team of about 20 people managing core functionalities of the Ground Transportation portfolio like shopping, search engine and fares.

Internship purpose In the last years, the rail industry has developed significantly, but still there is a lot of place for improvement. In Amadeus Rail we are working with cutting-edge technologies in order to keep up with the competition from the other means of transportation and to try to find solutions to make the search experience as customized as possible for the traveler. The goal of this internship is to design and implement a prototype o f a highly customizable search engine that will allow the traveler to input a set of criteria and get back the corresponding results.

You will be particing on various tasks :

· Study and understand the how the Amadeus Rail architectures and flows
· Work with various APIs
· Study and design the algorithms to use to cross-reference search results and traveler profiles
· Implement a prototype using Python
· Write clear documentation for the solution

Requirements:

· Will to learn and innovate.
· Experience with big data and algorithms.
· Experience with databases.
· Python and/or other OOP language skills.
· Fluent in spoken & written English.
