La Rochelle is one of the 12 industrial sites of Alstom in France. It is Alstom’s global Centre of Product Excellence for the design of high and very high speed trains, as well as for tramways.

With 1145 employees, it is the leading industrial site in the department of Charente-Maritime and the second largest in the Poitou-Charentes region.

La Rochelle site has designed all of the 722 very high speed trains sold by Alstom across the world since the first TGV trainset in 1978, and a large majority of the 2,000 Citadis tramways that have been sold since 1997 to 50 cities across the world.

OBJECTIVES

·  To be the financial partner  of the project and technical heads of the department,:

> Controlling of project, tender and RD costs of the department,

> Checking and analyzing the reliability  of actuals costs and costs at completion,

> Checking the consistency and reliability of Quality, Costs and Planning commitments of the department,

> Being the support of the project heads of the department.

POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION

·  Report to the WPC Manager and Site Controller
·  Links and networks:

> Project and technical heads of the department,

> Project controller project manager,

> Site controller,

> Project team,

MISSIONS

> Prepare, with the technical heads and the project teams the financial review (costs analysis, costs estimated to complete the projects according with the assumptions, …)

> Elaborate the financial reporting of the department to the project teams,

> Follow the operational progress of the projects,

> Forecast the risks and the opportunities and follow their action plans,

> Communicate about the return on experience concerning the costs for the projects completed,

> Check and to analyze the consistency between the global workload of the department and the load consolidated on the projects,

> Analyze the global costs of the department with transversal axises ( by product lines, by job, …),

> Check the application of the financial Alstom rules and processes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

> Master's degree in Finance (Finance controlling) or Engineering

> EXCEL : Excellent level

> SAP : Basic knowledge

> English : Good practice (TOEIC score >780)

> Professional background : 3-4 years as financial and/or cost controller ideally in industrial company.
