Alstom Transport with vast experience in the Rolling Stock, Signaling, and Infrastructure activities participated in the construction of Cairo Metro Lines (1, 2, and 3) with the renovation of the 52 Rolling Stock Units for line 1. 

Also, Alstom served the Egyptian Railways market through delivering Engineering, Power Supply, Construction, Maintenance and Trainings of Signaling, Centralized Control and Infrastructure of railway projects such as Giza-Beni Suef, Beni Suef-Assuit, and Cairo-Alexandria lines.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :

Carry out the assessment on a project/product development to determine whether the product/project meets the specified safety requirements and to form a judgement on the fact that the product/project is fit for its intended purpose.             

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities

-Propose the Engineering Scope of Work to the Project or Tender Manager; define the WorkPackages for the Systems Engineering team and for the participating Operations Products lines (first level), produce them with his team for Systems Engineering

-Manage technical relationship with the Consortium and the client

-Develop system acceptance criteria & processes, and have them agreed upon by Customer

-Choose the hypotheses for performance calculations and validate the results

-Validate the system Specifications and the interfaces specifications

-Control, with the support of the Design Control Manager, the System configuration

-Manage Design Changes related to the transport system definition throughout the project cycle

-Follow the Preliminary and Final Designs progress

-In relationship with the Project Test & Commissioning Manager, manage the integration and validation activities

-Lead, develop and motivate the Engineering Project / Tender team

-Implement the Methods and Engineering tools as per agreed recommendations

-Issue the technical risks assessment & mitigation

-Implement & Control the requirement capture

-Ensure the carry-over from previous projects and current R&Ds

-Support the Project Manager

-Issues the engineering management plan and manages project engineering activities according to  contract by delivering all WP in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitment with specific care to interfaces.

-Finalizes, implements and updates engineering risks mitigation plan

-Manages the convergence of "Components & TSS" organisation and external partner/suppliers deliverables for their given project engineering scope

-Implements methodologies and tools standards and processes, performs ReX until project closure for continuously improving the standards and processes

-Manages the train configuration

-Makes sure that applicable regulations are taken into account in the train design (and all its components & sub-systems), and certifies they are respected.

Qualifications & Skills:

EDUCATION: University degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronics)

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

·  Ability to make decisions in a timely and correct manner.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE 

·  +8 years Minimum technical knowledge in line with the assessed projects/products
·  Experience in Railway of 3 or more years (Preferred)
·  External recognition /accreditation is an added value.

·  Language Skills: Excellent command of Arabic and English (written/ spoken). French is an advantage
·  Excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills
·  IT Skills: computer literacy
·  Location for the role? Travel? Cairo, Travel within Egypt
