Mission

Executes GMA activities providing medical and scientific leadership from pre-launch through the whole life cycle of the product in alignment with the Global Brand Team (GBT).

Tasks and Responsibilities

· Provides medical and scientific input to the product’s cross-functional teams (GBT, Project Team, etc) and committees for the assigned projects/products
· In alignment with the GBT, delivers and leads the execution of a highly influential medical plan composed by:
· Publication strategy and plan
· Post-approval studies (Phase 3b, 4, observational studies) strategy and plan
· Advisory boards plan
· Leads medical activities related to planning and reporting of GMA studies ensuring timely delivery.
· Develops study related documents (concept sheets, synopses and publication)
· Conduct data analysis and data mining activities
· Develops and presents material for internal and external communication
· Prepares and distributes to countries medical material (such as slide decks) on the product/project of interest and organizes the relative trainings.
· Provide medical input to Clinical development plans, value dossiers, local MA clinical programs, brand safety.
· Contribute to people development and support the development of MA capabilities in the countries.
· Leads or provides support to internal and external medical education and communication initiatives such as MSL trainings, advisory boards, launch support, speakers training, advocacy, congress or Global Events planning and execution
· Drives Medical Expert and stakeholder management to support project orproduct relevant activities.
· Support competitor intelligence activities
· Participates ad hoc to the evaluating new development or in-licensing opportunities.
· Supports the product promotional activities by creating medical material or reviewing and approving marketing materials to ensure compliance within the international regulatory frame (e.g. EFPIA´s promotional code of practice)
· Maintains an up to date in-depth knowledge of the therapeutic area of interest.
· Ensures that all GMA related activities conform to Almirall standards, regulations and compliance requirements and follow good clinical/ethical practice.

Education

· MD with ≥3 years of industry experience required. Specialty a plus.

OR

·
Master degree or PhD in Life Science with ≥5 years of industry experience in clinical development or medical affairs.

Specific Knowledge

· Fluent level of English both oral and written.
· Advanced writing and communication skills.
· Medical and/or scientific expertise within the disease area required.
· Experience of working closely with commercial/marketing functions and an understanding of corporate and operational business issues.
· Team player; ability to work independently in a cross functional matrix setting.
· Ability to interpret and discuss scientific and clinical efficacy and safety data.
· Ability to lead projects from planning, execution to termination and to establish strong scientific partnership with Medical Experts and relevant stakeholders.
· Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance rules.

Experience

· Prior medical affairs experience at the European or US level in a pharmaceutical company.
· Drug launch experience is required.
· Experience in late phase clinical development.
· Experience in the assigned therapeutic area.
