JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Based in Paris and reporting directly to the Regional EIL Manager, you will be in charge of supporting the development of the EIL business in the Mediterranean Region (France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium). You will be in charge of underwriting and monitoring the execution of the global strategy and guidelines with respect to all accounts and will be the main contact person for brokers in France.
Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet EIL business targets
Negotiate price and terms and conditions with insurance brokers
Assume ownership of key accounts / clients
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients in partnership with Market Management
Support the liability underwriting team in the Region
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the development and execution of the regional underwriting strategy
Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet the top and bottom line targets
Underwrite in line with EIL governance framework
Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers
Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and producer negotiations where necessary)
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders, including liability underwriters in the Region
Work closely with Market Management, Claims and other product lines to achieve key marketing strategies, including cross- selling
Provide technical support to the market management team
KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in engineering or science
3-5 years’ experience of underwriting profitable EIL business
Good understanding of EIL products and portfolio
Strong communication skills and team spirit; entrepreneurial, proactive
Able to work in an international matrix organisation
Very good use of Excel and Office package
Fluent French and English
